Nicknamed "the Riveria of Central America", Manuel Antonio is mountainous, lush and tropical beach town situated between the bustling fishing town of Quepos, home of the world-class Marina Pez Vela, and the world-renowned Manuel Antonio National Park located approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) along a winding, jungle mountain road (Route 618).
Though Quepos and the National Park are situated at beach level, most of Manuel Antonio's tourism activity, including its boutique hotels and rental villas, surf and souvenir shops, eclectic dining venues, cafes, bars, tour operators and its nightlife, exist along this 6-mile stretch of road through the rainforest that connects the National Park with the town of Quepos.
